William has been practicing and teaching Yoga for over 40 years. He started one of the first Yoga studios in the Twin Cities, the Minneapolis Yoga Workshop, in 1979. He made three trips to India to study with BKS Iyengar, and is a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher. He is also trained in the Raja Yoga, Mindfulness (Vipassana) and Vajrayana meditation traditions, weaving their teachings into his classes. William trains and mentors teachers and dedicated students. His classes are known for his humor, his depth of understanding, and his therapeutic adjustments.
William's mission is to support others in developing conscious, nonviolent and compassionate lives. By integrating the body, breath and mind through yoga postures, deep relaxation and meditation, he helps provide the tools and skills to open hearts, discover self-care, and improve well-being.
